The Erasmus+ eRead project has come to an end

The international Erasmus+ project eRead “Developing Reading Skills With and Through Digital Technologies” has successfully come to an end, marking an important milestone for all partner institutions involved. Over the course of the project, partners from Estonia, Slovenia, Latvia and Ukraine worked closely together to study innovative EU experiences, exchange expertise, develop innovative educational resources, and implement modern teaching and learning approaches.

As a result, we have developed a BA module “Teaching Reading Digitally” that was integrated into the participating HEIs’ courses “Methods of Teaching Languages”, delivered professional development courses for in-service language teachers on teaching reading digitally, launched and piloted engaging online courses “Reading Skills: B1” for 4 different languages (Estonian, Slovene, Latvian, and Ukrainian).

The project produced tangible outcomes, including new methodologies, training activities, academic materials, and strengthened the partners’ institutional capacities. It also fostered intercultural dialogue, enhanced the digital and pedagogical competences of pre-service and in-service language teachers, and created a strong network of professionals committed to integrating quality and innovation in education. Equally important was the positive and inspiring collaboration of the project teams. Working together across cultures proved to be both professionally rewarding and personally enriching.

The teams would like to thank the project coordinator Oleksandra Golovko for initiating and organizing fruitful enjoyable cooperation, for navigating all challenges, providing support and endless inspiration!

Although the project has formally concluded, its results (a new module on digital reading, a professional development course and an e-course in national languages) will continue to be used and further developed, ensuring sustainability and long-term impact. The partnership that was established during the project lay a solid foundation for future international cooperation and new joint initiatives.
