Introduction of eRead project results at the scientific conference in Slovenia

On November 21, 2025, the 21st Scientific conferenceLifelong Learning as the Foundation of a Sustainable Society” was held at the University of Primorska, Faculty of Education (Slovenia). At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Sonja Rutar and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Barbara Baloh presented the activities and results of the eRead project. Participants expressed their enthusiasm for the guaranteed sustainability of project outputs, such as the integration of the “Teaching Reading Digitally” module into pedagogical study programs, with the aim of ensuring the development of the competences of future teachers and educators for teaching Slovenian as a second or foreign language.

Representatives of other faculties affiliated with the University of Primorska expressed great interest in participating in the Reading Skills, B1 course “Jaz pa pojdem…po slovensko”. All foreign students will thus have the opportunity to learn the Slovenian language and get to know Slovenian culture as part of the course. It was developed in collaboration with all partners, and the Slovenian version – in cooperation with the People's University Koper (Ljudska Univerza Koper), which ensured that the course is a unique opportunity for authentic entry into the content and language needs that adults face with when entering the Slovenian language environment.

The response of the participants confirmed our expectations that the Slovenian language course will be able to make an important contribution in the future to person- and language-needs-oriented learning in a digital environment, with learning at an individual pace and a choice of content.
